Recreation Program Leader 1 (50%)

Plan and coordinate discretionary time activities for inmates to include developing and directing a comprehensive recreational program of athletic and non-athletic activities; assessing the interests of inmates; develop procedures for and monitoring all activities to ensure compliance with established directives; soliciting inmate and community involvement; providing instruction in and officiating at activities. Preparing written reports; maintaining records of participants, programs, and equipment; responsibility for issuance and repair of equipment and supplies; conducting tryouts and selecting teams and officials; and coordinating tournaments and other events.
Job Function

Preparing written reports; maintaining records of participants, programs, and equipment; responsibility for issuance and repair of equipment and supplies; conducting tryouts and selecting teams and officials; and coordinating tournaments and other events.
Salary Range:
From $21.77 to $27.79 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
RECREATION PROGRAM LEADER 1/SG-14 Minimum qualifications for taking the open-competitive examination:
must have:
Either 1. an associate's degree in physical education, recreation, recreational therapy, or a closely related recreational field AND two years of experience directing or assisting in the direction of a scheduled, organized recreational program; Or 2. a bachelor's degree in physical education, recreation, recreational therapy, or a closely related recreational field ; Or 3. a bachelor's degree AND two years of experience as described in #1 above. Qualifying closely related field degrees (for the 2/6/16 exam) are:
athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology (athletic training), kinesiology (physical education), kinesiology (sports management), movement and science, recreation and leisure studies, recreation education, recreation management, sports management, or therapeutic recreation. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
