The team provides a full range of clinical treatment, psychosocial rehabilitation, and community support services designed to promote recovery by improving psychiatric symptoms, preventing relapse, teaching skills, providing direct assistance and securing community resources necessary for successful functioning in work, school, home and social relationships.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, under the supervision of the Psychiatrist and in conjunction with the Team Leader, has clinical responsibility for monitoring recipient treatment and staff delivery of clinical services.
SIGN ON BONUS - $7,500 MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR NYS OMH LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM _ This position is Hybrid remote.
Must be professionally licensed and reside in the State of New York_ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (when functioning to offset the psychiatrist hours) provides:
Psychiatric and medical assessment Treatment Education and training of the team.
Development, maintenance, and supervision of medication administration as well as psychiatric/medical treatment and procedures.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner may also fulfill the duties of a registered nurse.
Attends morning team meetings.
Provide telephonic consultation to primary care physicians as requested for mutual patients.
Suggest treatment plan changes including medication recommendations for patients who are not improving as expected.
Act as liaison with psychiatric hospitals providing inpatient care.
Participates in on call rotation.
Completes required ACT curriculum and training, as well as participates in any additional education required by the agency.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Management has the right to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
Requirements The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner should hold a current NYS NP license, a current NYS RN license, and a current DEA registration.
