edu Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is conducting a search for a part-time Technical Specialist - Student Services.
This position is part of the Student Activities and Residence Life team, which will assist in the planning and operation of student success initiatives and projects designed to improve student experiences and outcomes.
This position is responsible for providing information and guidance to students; coordinating and administering programs, events, and projects; facilitating student involvement in campus life; and providing support and assistance to students.
In addition, this position will provide guidance to on-campus clubs and organizations as well as assist with orientation and retention services for new students.
This position may occasionally involve a non-traditional work schedule including some evening and weekend work assignments.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, understand and interpret policies, rules, and regulations and manage time effectively and balance projects; must be able to communicate with students of diverse backgrounds and ages, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the capability to use technology to accomplish responsibilities.
Required:
Associate's degree; must possess a valid driver's license Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree; experience in student support services.
Pay:
$19/hr.
