Summary:
The Assistant Director of Telecommunications will provide assistance to the Director in the support of the overall operation and management of the Open Access Telecom Network.
The Assistant Director of Telecommunications will oversee the Director of Network Engineering, Director of Outside Plant Engineering & Construction, and the Telecommunications Chief Technology Officer.
The Assistant Director will be responsible for managing assigned capital projects and Authority initiatives, and assisting the Director in the preparation of annual budgets, five year capital plans and operating revenue/expense projections.
Some of the major functions include monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators, assistance with network carrier relations and business development, maintaining regulatory affairs, and developing standard operating processes and procedures.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field required; Masters of Business Administration preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of seven years of engineering/project management experience, preferable in Telecommunications.
Minimum of five years supervising technical employees.
Construction project management and permitting process experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable.
