Trades Specialist (Bridge)
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Trades Specialists (Bridge) perform skilled level work in a number of different trades in the repair and maintenance of bridges including carpentry, welding, masonry, ironworking, steel fabricating and painting. Trades Specialists (Bridge) also act as working supervisors over bridge repair sub-crews on small bridge repair and maintenance projects such as repairing bridge railings, repairing bridge deck holes and painting bridges. Candidates will need to be OPP certified to help with Snow & Ice during the winter season. Candidates will be required to be included in the department's written respiratory protection program. Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Salary Range:
From $46146 to $56324 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Four years of full-time experience in a trade related to bridge repair, maintenance and construction under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in a bridge or technical trade at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated; candidates must be One-Person Plowing (OPP) certified to perform Snow & Ice Operations during the winter season.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
