Bridge Repair Supervisor 1

A Bridge Repair Supervisor 1 (BRS 1) functions both as an overall assistant supervisor in a bridge repair crew overseeing and inspecting the work of the bridge repair crews for adherence to standards and instructions and as a working supervisor of a sub-crew involved in extensive repair projects such as repairing the substructure and deck of a bridge or repairing or replacing structural members of a bridge. A BRS 1 provides safety training and instructs crew members in the tasks to be performed, all safety requirements and Department policies, and answers any questions concerning before mentioned procedures; personally observes work in progress and work completed to ensure adherence to guidelines and instructions; and maintains time and attendance records and materials used on the jobs in MMS and submits brief written reports when requested. Incumbent will be required to supervise or perform Snow and Ice activities including One Person Plowing (OPP) and must be able to respond to emergency callouts within one (1) hour. Successful candidate will be required to be included in the Department's written respiratory protection program. Snow and Ice shift assignment will be discussed at the time of interview Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Salary Range:
From $49703 to $60371 Annually
Minimum Qualification
To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law. Candidates must possess a valid New York State Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with no air brake restriction, at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter. Appointees will be required to satisfactorily complete a one-person plowing certification program which the Department of Transportation will offer during the probationary period.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
