Revitalization Specialist 1

Under the direction of the Revitalization Specialist 2, G-27, the Revitalization Specialist 1 will perform the following duties. o Perform outreach activities with officials of local governments and communities to assist with planning and development activities that promote community revitalization, brownfield redevelopment, smart growth, and environmental justice. o Lead local governments, community-based organizations, and other eligible entities to form regional partnerships to develop complex (large acreage and multi-community) projects. o Advise communities on the principles of smart growth, and guide development of land use plans and projects that promote smart growth and community revitalization. o Participate in public hearings and represent DOS on regional boards and commissions having responsibility for brownfield redevelopment, community revitalization and economic development; assist in formulating or modifying policies and program priorities. o Interact with local governments to establish policy advisory committees fully representative of the diverse interests in the community including , but not limited to, business, non-profit, academic, cultural, and environmental organizations; assist local governments in preparing inter-municipal agreements to cooperatively address shared issues and project purposes. o Manage diverse State construction, design and planning grant contracts for public and private planning and development projects. o Oversee executed contracts for community assistance to ensure that all stipulations are met, including administrative requirements and performance measures; interact with control agencies to answer questions raised during the approval process. o Special projects as assigned.

Salary Range:
From $79325 to $100342 Annually
Minimum Qualification
PROVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Based on the results of the canvass of the current eligible list for the Revitalization Specialist 1 the Department may elect to make a provisional appointment to this position rather than a permanent appointment. If a provisional appointment is made, the appointed candidate will be required to compete in the next holding of the Revitalization Specialist 1 exam and be reachable for appointment from the newly established eligible list. NOTE:
The Revitalization Specialist 1 exam was held on 6/11/2022. In order to apply for these positions, you must have taken the exam. 55 B/C QUALIFICATIONS Individuals certified eligible for the 55 B/C program under the Governor's Program to Hire Persons/Veterans with Disabilities pursuant to Section 55 B/C of the Civil Service Law will also be considered. Please provide a copy of your letter of eligibility with your response.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
